Five Taranaki farmers bring valuable input to national farming body

Taranaki Federated Farmers president Mark Hooper is one of five Taranaki farmers on Federated Farmers national dairy council executives.

Five Taranaki farmers have been elected to Federated Farmers national executive councils.

Taranaki provincial president Mark Hooper is a member of the national council and also a member of the national dairy executive.

Taranaki contract milker Sam Ebbett​ of Eltham has been elected to the national sharemilker executive.

Long serving national sharemilker farm owners executive Brendan Attrill​, of Toko, continues his role as executive vice chairman, while Andrew Corrigan​, of Hawera, and Leedom Gibbs​, of Brixton, have also been elected to the national sharemilker farm owners executive.

There was strong competition to be elected onto the various national executives, which spelled out the organisation was in “healthy” state, Hooper said.

Having a strong input from Taranaki at national level was important for the farmer sector in the province, he said.
