Sky News host Chris Smith talked with the Chinese-Australian UTS academic Dr Feng Chongyi, who has been accused by China’s ‘Global Times’ of working for the Australian government to spy against the communist regime.
The allegations come off the back of Chinese accusations the Morrison government is waging an intensifying espionage offensive against China.
Mr Smith said “there are some holes in this latest lashing out at Australia”
“Feng Chongyi has never been charged, but he has been an eternal critic of China’s human rights record”.
Mr Chongyi denied the allegations saying the idea that he was a paid informant to Australia was “ridiculous”.
