Commissioner Gross Give Address at the Boston Police Relief Association Memorial Day Services — bpdnews.com

On Sunday, June 7, 2020 the Boston Police Relief Association held their annual Memorial Day Service at the Boston Police Memorial at BPD Headquarters to pay homage to the number of officers who have passed away in 2019. Due to the COVID-19 health emergency, the BPRA was unable to hold a Mass in honor of the fallen officers, but instead the Boston Fire Commissioner Jack Dempsey, the BFD Union, and Firefighter Brian Alkins loaned their BFD Fire Bell which was used in lieu of the traditional twenty-one-gun salute. Said Commissioner Gross, “All of the family and friends that could not be here today, I’ll have you know this, your loved ones, our loved ones, our brothers and sisters will never be forgotten. Even in these trying times we’re facing here in 2020, we never forget those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.”
